Latest News on Christian Counselling Courses

Dear Christian Leaders & Friends,
Future Christian Counselling Courses & Insight Days coming up
In the extraordinary times we are experiencing, it is no surprise to learn that the mental health of many is being compromised in some way.
There are those who have lost loved ones and been unable to say goodbye and only have 5 people at the funeral, those also who have risked their own health for the sake of others, who have watched others suffer without loved ones close by. Then there are those who have felt isolated and lonely not to mention the ones who have struggled with fear or anxiety.
In light of all this it feels more important than ever that as the Body of Christ we are well equipped to take good emotional care of each other and perhaps of new people who would seek solace from the church.
Thankfully, Waverley Abbey College (WAC) is able to offer its quality training here in the north without the need for travelling as far as Farnham in Surrey. The College is developing its Northern Hub with us in Bradford and as such is offering a number of its courses more locally than ever before. WAC offers a level 5 DipHE Course in counselling which is also available in Bradford, allowing participants to become professional counsellors while maintaining a solid Christian base.
We are also offering the “ICCC” which is a short 5 week Course providing a basic insight into what makes others tick and can be useful in equipping people for a pastoral care role within the church. Also ‘One off’ days examining Disappointment and Bereavement are coming up with more of these on offer in the future.
I invite you to CHECK OUT the links below for more information and to pass this on please to anyone who you think may be interested.

All public gatherings are suspended until further notice
/in News /by AdminDear Church Family,
In light of current events which seem to be changing hour by hour, we would like to update you on our response as church. The elders met last night, and we have decided to suspend all public gatherings until further notice. This decision is in line with current government advice, which is aimed at protecting people, particularly the most vulnerable. I believe the Lord has given us a great opportunity to demonstrate what we have been learning recently.
1 Timothy 2
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Not meeting may seem counterproductive for Christians as our faith is based upon community and interaction with one another. In times like this, rather than focusing on what we no longer can do, may we be creative and inventive with the things we can do.
We will continue to communicate through the established platforms like; email, telephone, website, mobile texts, current Whatsapp groups and the daily reading plan. We are also working on establishing a streaming platform to allow us to continue our Sunday teachings together. We will email you with more information about streaming Sunday teachings in due course.
We have been so blessed to hear of the encouragement and support people are showing each other already. What an amazing church family we have! Please continue to be proactive in reaching out to and loving one another. Do not be afraid to ask if help is needed at this time. You can contact us through the website, church email, phone or mobile (see below for details). Although we may have to isolate in a physical way, we don’t want anyone to feel they are alone.
Considering the measures being taken and the consequences of them we have a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus and the peace only He can bring. If you are able, reach out to your friends and neighbours as Jesus taught us:
Matthew 22
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
We very much look forward to the day we will gather again to worship and fellowship. I leave you with the wonderful words of the psalmist:
Psalm 121
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
May God bless you and keep you.
