Monday mornings, 9:30 - 11:30am over 3 terms (academic year)

Commencing 12th October 2009

Fees: £215 in total - £50 deposit; balance of £165 to be paid on 12th October 2009

Course Outline

Module 1	Unit 101: Introduction to B.S.L
Module 2	Unit 102: Conversational B.S.L
Module 3	Unit 103: B.S.L. at School, College or Work

B.S.L is the nationally recognised language used by Deaf people. This Course runs for 60 hours, providing you with a C.A.C.D.P. qualification. B.S.L. is a natural language of signing with the hands, involving facial expression & body movements. Finger-spelling will also be taught.

Diane Dewhirst

Mrs Diane Dewhirst is Canaan Christian College’s B.S.L. Course Co-ordinator, and Tutor for the Level 1 daytime course. She B.S.L. Levels 1 & 2 qualified, and has B.S.L. NVQ Levels 3 & 4 (Language Units).

Diane has also achieved Level 3 Certificate in Communication & Guiding Skills with Deaf / Blind People, the 7303 Teaching Certificate & AS Level English Language. She's an Affiliate Member of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters (ASLI).
